Who is responsible & how to contact us
The controller is Lisa Lorenz, trading as Blank-Slate, Chausseestraße 108, 10115 Berlin, Germany. Email hello@blank-slate.com; telephone +49 (0) 178 629 3632. You can use this address for privacy questions, access or deletion requests, objections and consent withdrawal.
Hosting, recipients and overseas processing
This website uses ChatGPT Sites. OpenAI processes personal data collected by the published website on our behalf under the ChatGPT Sites Data Processing Addendum; the EEA contracting party identified there is OpenAI Ireland Ltd. Hosting includes Cloudflare infrastructure: a private D1 database for invitation, interest and waitlist records, owner alert settings and optional analytics, and private R2 storage for submitted documents and review details. Access through the website is restricted to Lisa; hosting and support providers can process data as needed to operate and secure the service. OpenAI’s sub-processor list describes its infrastructure and support recipients.
Connection and security data can include IP address, request time and URL, browser/device information, response status and abuse-detection information. We use these for delivery, fault diagnosis and protection against misuse, under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a reliable, secure website and protecting visitors’ submissions. Technical logs are retained as needed for those operational and security purposes; relevant provider arrangements govern platform-managed logs. The short-lived form counters described below are separate from hosting logs.
Hosting, support and email processing may take place outside the EEA, including in the United States. The Sites DPA provides for adequacy decisions or EU Standard Contractual Clauses for applicable transfers. Processing exclusively in Germany or the EEA is not promised. Information about applicable safeguards, and copies where available, can be requested from us. Business email for blank-slate.com is routed through Google-hosted email services. Email providers process messages, attachments and connection/security metadata to deliver and protect correspondence; see Google’s Cloud Data Processing Addendum and privacy information.
If a submission includes relevant professional information about another person, such as a co-founder or team member, we receive it from the submitter and use it only for the review concerned. Those people have the same applicable data-protection rights. Where Article 14 GDPR requires a separate notice, we provide it within the statutory period or at the first communication/disclosure, unless a legal exception applies. Please avoid unnecessary third-party or sensitive information.
Your rights
Under the applicable conditions in Articles 15–22 GDPR, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction and data portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation; you can object to direct marketing at any time without giving reasons. Consent can be withdrawn at any time for the future, without affecting earlier lawful processing. Acknowledging that you have read this notice is not consent to publication, sharing or marketing.
We normally respond to rights requests within one month. Where legally permitted because of complexity or number of requests, an extension of up to two further months is possible; we explain this within the first month. We may ask only for proportionate information needed to establish identity. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany, mailbox@datenschutz-berlin.de, or the authority where you live or work.
Invitations, submissions and freelance applications are reviewed by a person. We do not use solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. The current Ask Blank-Slate page contains written examples; it does not send questions to an AI service or store visitor conversations.
Requesting an invitation & signing in
The homepage and the public portal introduction lead to the same invitation form. No account is needed to request an invitation. On submission, we save your name, email address, selected participation role and introduction. New requests also ask founders for a venture name, stage and sector; investors for their type and investment focus; businesses for a name, industry and services; and writers or experts for their topics or expertise. Organisation, professional profile or website, and city/country can be supplied where optional. We also save the time, a random request identifier and the notice version acknowledged. If you follow a room-specific link, selected interests or benefit categories can appear in the introduction; you can edit it before submitting. The request is saved in the private D1 register.
Lisa uses these details to assess your requested participation, understand what you would bring to the developing community and respond about the request. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in reviewing requested access and admitting suitable participants, balanced against your rights. Providing details is voluntary, but the marked contact, role, introduction and relevant professional fields are needed to review a request. A professional profile/website and city/country are optional. Please omit sensitive information and unnecessary details about other people. A request does not approve access, subscribe you to newsletters or authorise publication. You can withdraw the request by emailing us.
If access is approved, your approved email address is retained in a restricted access list while the permission is active. Signing in with ChatGPT is a separate step; signing in alone does not approve a request. OpenAI may share basic account details shown on its authorisation screen, such as name, email and profile image if available. This site’s application uses the Site-specific user identifier and account email to check approved access, attribute uploads and restrict the private review areas. It does not request or read your private ChatGPT conversations. OpenAI’s own account and sign-in processing is described in its European privacy policy.
We check access permissions when access changes or a removal request is received, and review inactive access for removal. Routine invitation and interest-register records have a six-calendar-month expiry from submission. Expired database records are removed when the registration service or private register is next used; deletion reviews also cover inactive records and exports. These are our retention arrangements, not a statutory six-month retention requirement. Active correspondence, approved access permissions or a specific legal obligation can require a separate, limited retention period for that purpose.
igl drinks waitlist
The controller is Lisa Lorenz, trading as Blank-Slate, Chausseestraße 108, 10115 Berlin, Germany. Contact hello@blank-slate.com about your igl waitlist details.
Joining collects your email, whether you are interested individually or for a team, and your selected interests in samplers / variety packs or future office deliveries. Company, city and team size are optional for teams. We record the submission time, a random request identifier and the consent-notice version. Your details are stored privately in the same platform-backed Cloudflare D1 register used for Entrepreneur’s Portal; igl requests have their own labels. Only the Principal can review or export them through the website. To limit abuse, we retain a daily hash derived from the Site user identifier or connection IP address, or email if neither is available, for up to 24 hours.
We use your selected opt-in to maintain the waitlist and contact you about the igl interests you chose, based on your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. The waitlist creates no purchase, payment or general Entrepreneur’s Portal membership. Its email opt-in is limited to the igl interests you selected; the requirements for promotional email under § 7 UWG also apply. It does not opt you into unrelated community or advisory marketing. You can withdraw at any time by emailing hello@blank-slate.com with “leave the igl waitlist”. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully carried out before it. Waitlist register entries expire six calendar months after submission and are removed when the registration service or private register is next used. We also review inactive entries and downloaded copies for timely deletion. A withdrawal request ends future waitlist use without undue delay, subject only to any minimal record needed to respect an opt-out or demonstrate earlier consent. You have the access, correction, deletion and complaint rights described in this notice.
Entrepreneur’s Portal × Blank-Slate
Entrepreneur’s Portal brings together Off Script (including Pitch 5), Outliers, the Entrepreneur Card and igl drinks. The umbrella platform was previously presented under the Off Script name. Existing submissions and expressions of interest continue to be handled by the same controller under the purposes and retention periods described here.
Entrepreneur’s Portal accepts founder pitch submissions, service-provider offerings, writing samples and expressions of interest through the website or directly by email. Professional contributions and startup lessons can also be sent by email. The controller is Lisa Lorenz, trading as Blank-Slate, Chausseestraße 108, 10115 Berlin, Germany. Contact hello@blank-slate.com for privacy enquiries or to exercise your rights.
Enquiries and review
The founder form collects your name, contact email, venture, stage and sector, brief introduction and PDF deck when you select “Submit Pitch”. A LinkedIn link is required; a website link is optional. The business offering form collects your name, contact email, business name, selected industry, another industry if you choose Other, a list of services or products, and a description of your offering when you select “Submit Your Offering”; a LinkedIn link is required, while a website and PDF brochure are optional. The writer form collects your name, email, LinkedIn link, selected writing areas, a description of your perspective and a PDF sample; a portfolio link and another writing area are optional. Submissions are categorised as founder, service provider or writer for private review. Signing in supplies a Site-specific user identifier and account email through the hosting platform. We record these with the submission time and privacy-notice acknowledgement to attribute submissions and limit abuse. The website stores submitted PDF content, the submitted filename and file size, contact details, account identifiers, time, notice version and review details in private platform-backed Cloudflare R2 storage, provided through ChatGPT Sites. PDF attachments are limited to 10 MB. They are accessible through an inbox restricted to the Principal; they are not publicly listed or linked.
We use this information to assess relevance, respond and discuss possible contributions, partnerships or introductions. The basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in reviewing requested participation, arranging relevant professional conversations and protecting the submission service, balanced against your rights. Supplying information is voluntary; contact information, relevant context and a deck are required for a pitch submission; business and service details are required for a provider offering, with no attachment required; writing areas, context and a sample are required for a writer enquiry. Email and LinkedIn are required across these submission forms. Please omit sensitive personal data and confidential information or unnecessary identifying details about others. The privacy acknowledgement confirms that you have read the notice; it is not consent to publish, share or send marketing.
The interactive room’s interest links lead to the invitation journey, with selected topics carried into the request where relevant. Every submission route also offers direct email without signing in. Email buttons open a draft in your email application; attach your material before sending. We receive your details, correspondence and attachments only when you send the email, and handle the original message and attachments through our email service. Lisa may manually record a brief review entry in the private D1 dashboard, as described below. The same private-review purposes, retention period and rights apply. Emailing does not subscribe you to newsletters or partner offers, or give permission to publish or share your material.
Invitation requests and investor interests
For the public invitation form, see Requesting an invitation & signing in. The separate detailed interest form inside the private Off Script Investors tab uses the same private D1 register. It collects name, email, LinkedIn profile, participation groups and investor type, with relevant stage, sponsor, industry/service details and optional interests or proposals where shown. This form supports reviewing requested professional participation; it does not create membership, a card or a newsletter subscription. Its basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, for assessing relevant professional interests and responding to requested participation. Required fields are marked; without them, a meaningful review may not be possible.
Form abuse controls retain a pseudonymous daily hash derived from the Site user identifier, connection IP address or, if neither is available, email, plus an attempt counter. The counter has a 24-hour expiry and is removed when the registration service or private register is next used. The website code does not store the raw IP address in this register; the hosting platform can separately process IP addresses in security logs. These controls use Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, for protecting the forms and private records. Invitation, detailed-interest and waitlist entries are not sold or exposed as a public directory.
Publication, anonymity and introductions
Pitch uploads, provider offerings, writing samples and email submissions identify their sender to Blank-Slate; they are not collected anonymously. A story can subsequently be published without your name, after we agree the content and remove identifying details. Before publication of identifiable information, a founder feature or sharing a profile or deck with another person, we explain the proposed content, recipient or audience and purpose, and obtain separate consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. An initial submission is not permission to publish or circulate it. A receiving investor or other professional may be an independent controller with their own privacy notice.
Retention and email updates
Inactive or unsuccessful upload enquiries and their attachments are reviewed and deleted by Lisa within six months of the last substantive exchange, except limited records required for a legal obligation or specific legal claim. Upload deletion is a manual review process, not an automatic six-month timer. Downloaded copies and email attachments follow the same retention policy. If a contribution or introduction proceeds, we agree its scope and retention separately; this is not indefinite pool membership. Requests do not subscribe you to newsletters or promotional emails. Promotional emails require the separate opt-in described below.
Your information and rights
Access is limited to the Principal and authorised providers needed for email, hosting and storage. OpenAI and its infrastructure providers process submitted registrations and uploaded pitches, provider materials and writing samples to operate the Site; the hosting and transfer information below applies to these files and review records as well as technical connection data. We do not sell contributions or contact details. Review is by a person, without solely automated selection. You may withdraw consent for future sharing or publication by contacting us; earlier lawful processing is unaffected. We explain any additional provider or overseas recipient and applicable transfer safeguards before using it. The hosting arrangements, international-transfer information, full data-protection rights and supervisory-authority details below also apply to Entrepreneur’s Portal.
Entrepreneur Card, partner benefits & email updates
The Entrepreneur Card and its benefits remain in development. Selected benefit categories and shortlists are illustrative and kept in page memory during the visit; they are saved to the private register only if you submit them as part of a request. A shortlist does not enrol you, create points, confirm a purchase or send your details to a partner.
We review initial card or partner interest under the invitation and enquiry purposes described above, based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. No general newsletter or automated partner-marketing subscription is active. Before adding promotional emails beyond an expressly requested igl waitlist opt-in, we request separate, voluntary consent and explain the sender, topics and how to withdraw. Declining marketing does not affect the review of an invitation, advisory enquiry or freelance application.
Before sharing an identifiable profile or material with a partner or investor, we explain the proposed recipient, data and purpose and obtain separate permission where required. Direct redemption of an eventual partner offer would be subject to that partner’s own privacy information. New payment, benefit-redemption or mailing services will be disclosed before they are activated.
Optional first-party visitor analytics
Only after you select Allow analytics, we measure page views, sessions, active reading time, scroll depth, selected navigation clicks, referring website hostname, broad device/browser category and approximate country, region or city where the hosting platform supplies it. This helps us understand which pages are useful and improve the site. Location estimates derive from connection information at the hosting provider, may be absent or inaccurate, and are not GPS or precise coordinates. No browser location permission is requested. After opt-in, the browser can query the same-domain Cloudflare connection diagnostic to obtain only its two-letter country estimate. Other diagnostic fields, including the returned connection IP, are not sent to or stored in our analytics table. The country code can be cached with the session; a failed estimate is left unavailable. The website analytics table does not store raw IP addresses, full referring URLs, query strings, form contents, keystrokes, screenshots, session replays, submitted documents or your name/email/account identity.
After consent, bs_analytics_visitor_v1 in localStorage stores a random browser identifier with an expiry of up to 180 days. bs_analytics_session_v1 in sessionStorage contains a random session identifier, last activity time, referring origin and a country estimate; it is renewed after 30 minutes without analytics activity and ends when the tab’s storage is cleared. These identifiers recognise a browser, not a verified person or a visitor across devices. Records include event identifiers, time, consent version and the metrics above. Active reading time is measured only while the page is visible and focused with recent interaction; it stops after a minute without activity. Private owner pages are excluded. Statistics are not joined to submissions, account identity or marketing profiles.
Pseudonymous statistics are stored privately in the existing Cloudflare D1 service through ChatGPT Sites and accessible through the website only to Lisa. The hosting recipients, potential overseas processing and safeguards in this notice apply. Event records older than 180 days are deleted when the analytics service or report is next used; inactive storage is also subject to deletion review. Daily hashed connection identifiers and counters are used for abuse protection, expire after 24 hours and are cleared on subsequent service use. No advertising provider receives this analytics feed.
Declining analytics does not restrict the website, forms or portal. Choosing Essential only after an earlier opt-in immediately stops new tracking, clears the analytics identifiers from this browser and requests deletion of its earlier event records. If deletion cannot be confirmed, you can contact hello@blank-slate.com. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior consent-based processing. Clearing browser storage also ends recognition; after that, individual earlier records may no longer be attributable to you. Your rights and supervisory-authority contact are described above. Analytics begins with this update; it does not recreate earlier visits.
Private owner dashboard and submission alerts
For each new successfully saved form submission we store a separate alert identifier, time, category and private review link, with an optional reviewed time. Alert records contain no submitted name, email, message or document. They expire after 180 days and are removed when the private owner dashboard is next used. Only Lisa may view the dashboard and configure the primary and optional additional notification recipient. Alert delivery, when activated, uses those recipient addresses and limited alert metadata; full submissions stay in the protected register or inbox. The purpose is timely review of requested professional enquiries under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Internal alert recipients must be authorised to receive this limited review information. Direct correspondence continues through business email. Delivery providers are described above; a saved recipient does not itself enable delivery.
After receiving a professional enquiry by email, Lisa may manually record the sender’s name and email, original subject, received date, participation group, submission type and relevant professional review details or brief notes in a private D1 register. These entries are explicitly labelled as manually recorded emails. The website does not automatically read the mailbox, copy email attachments or treat an email-link click as a received message. This register serves the same requested enquiry and participation-review purposes under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Only Lisa can view, add or remove entries. Email review records expire six calendar months after being recorded and are removed when the email register or owner overview is next used; correspondence and mailbox attachments follow the separate retention policy above. Dashboard counts combine relevant records using the supplied email address, including across participation groups. This is an administrative register, with no link to optional visitor analytics and no automated admission decisions. Correction, objection and deletion rights apply as described below.
Freelance opportunities & talent pool
This section explains how we handle expressions of interest, invited applications and our selective talent pool. All advertised opportunities are freelance engagements. An initial introduction does not enrol you in the talent pool or authorise sharing your profile with clients.
Who is responsible
The controller is Lisa Lorenz, trading as Blank-Slate, Chausseestraße 108, 10115 Berlin, Germany. Contact hello@blank-slate.com or +49 (0) 178 6293632 for privacy enquiries, consent withdrawal or rights requests.
Information and purposes
We process information you send us: name and contact details, professional profile, experience, qualifications, location, availability and relevant correspondence. If you are invited to apply, this may include your CV, portfolio, work examples and assessment notes. We use it to review suitability, communicate with you and consider the freelance engagement concerned.
Sharing information is voluntary. We need sufficient professional and contact information to assess your interest and respond; without it we may be unable to consider you. Please provide only relevant information and avoid sensitive personal information, identity documents and confidential information belonging to other people or clients.
Legal bases
Where processing is necessary for steps you request towards a freelance contract with Blank-Slate, the basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Initial suitability reviews and coordination of client-mandate enquiries use Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in assessing relevant expertise and arranging suitable freelance collaboration, balanced against your rights. Optional retention for future opportunities and disclosure to a named client use your separate consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
A separate invitation and opt-in
Following an initial review, shortlisted candidates may be invited to apply. If we invite you to join the talent pool, we request and record a separate, voluntary opt-in before retaining your profile for future opportunities. Declining pool consent does not affect consideration for an existing engagement. Pool inclusion remains selective.
Before sending an identifiable profile to a client, we tell you which client, what information would be shared and for what purpose, and request separate consent. A client receiving a profile may be an independent controller and will need to provide its own privacy information. Consent to the talent pool does not authorise disclosure to every client.
Access, service providers and international transfers
Access is limited to the Principal and authorised people who need the information for the selection process. Email and storage service providers may process information on our behalf. Professional advisers or authorities receive information only where necessary for a legal obligation or a specific legal matter. Profiles are not published in a public directory or sold.
The website opens an email draft; it does not upload candidate profiles to a recruitment database. Technical hosting is described below. Before any additional storage service or overseas client is used for candidate information, we provide the applicable recipient and transfer information. Transfers outside the EEA require a valid GDPR transfer basis, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. Permission to share a profile does not replace these safeguards. Details or copies of applicable safeguards can be requested by email.
Retention
Without talent-pool consent, candidate profiles are deleted no later than six months after the review or selection process ends. If no process is active, they are deleted within six months of the last substantive exchange, subject to the limited legal-record exceptions below. These are our retention periods, not statutory minimum periods.
With separate pool consent, we retain the agreed profile for up to 12 months from that consent. A further period requires a fresh opt-in; silence does not renew it. Earlier withdrawal ends future pool use, and the profile is deleted without undue delay unless limited records must be retained for a legal obligation or a specific legal claim. Such records are restricted to that purpose for as long as the obligation or claim requires. Records needed for an agreed engagement follow the applicable contractual and legal retention requirements.
“Rolling basis” describes when expressions of interest are welcome. It does not mean indefinite retention of your information.
Your rights and human review
Subject to the applicable legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing us; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Selection is reviewed by a person. We do not make solely automated decisions about invitations, applications or talent-pool inclusion. You may complain to a supervisory authority, including the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, or the authority where you live or work.

Schreiben Sie hierfür an hello@blank-slate.com.
